Kolkata, June 3 -- The West Bengal government has transferred around 32 acres of land to the Border Security Force (BSF) to facilitate the completion of fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border, state Rural Development Minister Dilip Ghosh said on Wednesday.

According to Ghosh, nearly 31.905 acres of land have been handed over to the BSF at nine locations across the border districts of the state.

The transfer follows a decision taken at the government's first Cabinet meeting and is intended to accelerate long-pending fencing work in vulnerable stretches of the border.
