Kolkata, July 10 -- Four days after assuring the family of the minor girl allegedly raped and murdered at Surjapur in South 24-Parganas that a police outpost would be set up in the area, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is scheduled to inaugurate the facility on Saturday.

The Chief Minister had visited the bereaved family on Tuesday following the alleged rape and murder of the 12-year-old girl, whose body was recovered from a pond on Sunday.

During the meeting, the family expressed concern over security in the locality and requested the establishment of a permanent police outpost.

Adhikari assured them that the demand would be taken up with the state administration immediately.
