Kolkata, July 24 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday warned government officials against corruption and harassment after two Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs) were suspended for allegedly demanding a bribe from a truck driver in West Burdwan district.
Adhikari posted the suspension order of the two officials on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: "Zero Tolerance for Corruption: No One is Above the Law".
According to the Chief Minister's post, the truck owner and driver had complained that the vehicle was stopped by the two MVIs at Rampur Checkpost in West Burdwan while it was returning to its garage after servicing.
