Kolkata, Sept. 7 -- : The West Bengal Cabinet on Monday approved an increase in monthly remuneration for para-teachers, Siksha Bandhus, SSK-MSK workers and various categories of forest department employees, besides clearing a bill to facilitate inter-university transfers of teaching and non-teaching staff.

The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting at Nabanna, with the revised remuneration for several education-sector categories coming into effect from November 1.

For para-teachers at the primary level, the monthly remuneration of 20,343 employees will increase by Rs 5,000, from Rs 11,941 to Rs 16,941.

At the upper-primary level, 21,849 para-teachers will also receive a Rs 5,000 increase, taking their monthly remuneration from Rs 15,5...
