Kolkata, May 18 -- : In a major decision aimed at addressing the long-pending demands of state government employees, the newly formed BJP government in West Bengal on Monday announced the constitution of the much-awaited Seventh Pay Commission.

The decision was taken at the second key meeting of the new state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna.

The move is being seen as one of the biggest administrative decisions taken by the new government since assuming office after the change of power in the state.
