Durgapur, Sept. 27 -- Panic gripped the Durgapur area on Sunday morning after the body of an unidentified young man was recovered from beneath a railway platform bridge near the local goods shed around 7 am.
The discovery has prompted a murder investigation after bloodstains were found leading from a nearby house towards the road, raising suspicion that the body may have been dragged to the spot.
Locals noticed the stains extending from inside the house to the road and towards the place where the body was found. "It appears from the marks on the ground that the body was dragged out of the house. But we have no idea who the deceased is or what exactly happened," said resident Shambhu Das.
