Kolkata, June 29 -- The proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill is unlikely to be introduced in the state Assembly on Monday, according to sources in the Assembly.

Instead, the government is expected to constitute a high-level committee to examine the matter.

Sources in the Assembly said that the future introduction of the Bill may depend on the recommendations or report submitted by the committee.

However, details regarding the composition of the panel and its functioning are yet to be finalised.

The first phase of the state Assembly's budget session concludes on Monday, while the second phase is scheduled to begin on July 7.
