Kolkata, Sept. 19 -- The Bankshall Court on Friday ordered top CPI (Maoist) leader Asim Mondal, alias Akash, to be remanded to police custody till September 29.
He was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Kolkata Police early Thursday morning. Investigating agencies view the arrest of the Maoist leader, who had been in hiding across the forest regions of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha for a long time, as a significant success.
