Burdwan, Sept. 27 -- In a surprising move reflecting its Pan India ambitions, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) opened its first party office in East Burdwan in West Bengal on Sunday, marking the beginning of its organisational activities in the district.
The party though is yet to establish its presence in neighbouring Birbhum, Bankura and Purulia districts.
TVK West Bengal state coordinator Chaitali Roy said, "Instructions came from Tamil Nadu to connect with common people through welfare activities in states where the party organisation is being formed.
