Siliguri, Aug. 7 -- After remaining virtually defunct for nearly two-and-a-half years, the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) held a meeting on Friday and decided to conduct a special audit of its activities over the past 15 years, covering the period when the authority was under the Trinamool Congress-led administration.

The move comes ahead of the appointment of a new SJDA chairman and board by the state government.

The decision was announced by state Tourism Minister Dr Shankar Ghosh after the meeting, which was attended by Minister of State for Finance and Transport Anandamay Barman and MLAs from areas under the SJDA.
