Siliguri, June 19 -- Mayor Gautam Deb submitted his resignation as mayor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation to the municipal commissioner on Friday.
His departure had been the subject of speculation over the past few days, especially after several senior civic functionaries stepped down following the Assembly poll results.
Earlier, Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim, Bidhannagar mayor Krishna Chakraborty, and Chandannagar mayor Ram Chakraborty had resigned from their respective posts. With Deb's resignation, the Siliguri civic board is also set to be reconstituted.
