Kolkata, July 17 -- Minority leader Siddiqullah Chowdhury on Friday withdrew his proposed programme to offer prayers at the historic Gauripur Jame Mosque, popularly known as the Bankra Mosque, inside Kolkata's Dum Dum airport premises after visiting the area and holding discussions with senior police officers.
The development came amid unprecedented security arrangements around Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, where the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate imposed prohibitory restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) around Gate No. 7 and adjoining areas to prevent any breach of peace.
