olkata, May 14 -- Fresh signs of unease within the All India Trinamool Congress surfaced on Thursday after party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh made a series of pointed remarks on social media following the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected MLAs in the West Bengal Assembly.
Ghosh, who took oath as the MLA from Beleghata, suggested that former Trinamool leaders Tapas Roy and Sajal Ghosh had been "compelled" to leave the party. His comments have triggered speculation over renewed factional tensions within the Trinamool Congress and calls for what he termed "self-introspection" by the party leadership.
