Siliguri, Sept. 4 -- According to the West Bengal Irrigation and Flood Control Room, the Ganga was flowing at 25.22 metres at Manikchak Ghat, just 8 cm below the extreme danger level of 25.30 metres.

The water level is currently steady but is expected to rise soon.

A senior departmental executive engineer said the discharge from the Sone River has declined, though it is still flowing at around 4.5 lakh cusecs. The Kosi is discharging 2.16 lakh cusecs, while the Gandak is releasing 1.64 lakh cusecs.
