Kolkata, Sept. 16 -- A fresh complaint has been lodged against former DCP Shantanu Sinha Biswas at Gariahat Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act, alleging that he abused his official position to obtain financial benefits worth around Rs 2.89 crore.
According to the complaint, Biswas allegedly received the benefits directly and indirectly through cash payments, gifts and other financial arrangements.
The allegations include payments made to his family members and properties allegedly acquired through benami transactions.
The complaint claims that his wife received Rs 74.36 lakh as salary from an organisation.
Biswas has also been accused of acquiring two flats worth Rs 82 lakh in benami names.
