Motihari, July 19 -- Continuous heavy rainfall in Nepal''s catchment areas has heightened the flood threat in East Champaran district of Bihar, with water levels rising steadily in nearly a dozen rivers, including the Gandak, Burhi Gandak, Sikrahana, Gaad, Bahuari, and Tilave.
Official sources said here today that floodwaters from the Sikrahana River entered Nayaka Tola in Ward No. 1 of the Sugauli Nagar Parishad during the day after which the district administration stepped up vigilance and preparedness measures.
