Kolkata, June 14 -- Arrested Trinamool Congress leader and former Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation chairman Sabyasachi Dutta faced public ire on Sunday when unidentified persons allegedly hurled eggs at him while he was being escorted by police after a search operation at his former ward office in Bidhannagar situated in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas.
According to police sources, Dutta was taken to his office in Ward No. 31 around 1 p.m. on Sunday as part of the ongoing investigation into an extortion case in which he was recently arrested. Dutta had earlier served as the councillor of the ward. Police conducted a search of the office in his presence.
