Debojyoti ChakrabortySuri, Nov. 3 -- Birbhum district police have finalised a security and traffic management plan for the upcoming Kali Puja celebrations, taking lessons from the recent Chorbagan Durga Puja tragedy in Kolkata.
Superintendent of Police Vidit Raj Bhundesh said extensive arrangements had been made to manage the expected influx of devotees. Special security measures will be implemented in high-congestion areas and at major community gatherings in Loba, Sainthia and Suri.
Additional police personnel will be deployed, dedicated police camps set up and CCTV networks installed. The arrangements will also include drone surveillance, help desks and bio-toilets for public convenience.
