Kolkata, June 23 -- Rohan Sheikh, alias Kismat Sheikh, an accused in the 2022 Bogtui carnage in West Bengal's Birbhum district, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths from a Central Kolkata area on Tuesday.
The CBI stated that Rohan, chargesheeted along with 26 others, had been absconding ever since the FIR regarding the Bogtui massacre in Birbhum district was filed. He was declared a "proclaimed offender" in 2024.
Rohan is the son of Lalan Sheikh, another accused in the Bogtui case who had died while in CBI custody.
