Belagavi, April 2 -- Belagavi's hotel kitchens are quietly rewriting their energy playbook as a global conflict far beyond India's borders begins to bite at the local level, forcing a rapid and unexpected transition away from LPG to biomass fuels.
A severe shortage of commercial LPG cylinders in the border district, linked by stakeholders to disruptions in global fuel supply chains amid the West Asia conflict, has pushed the city's hospitality sector into crisis mode.
With demand estimated at around 1,600 cylinders a day for over 350 hotels, but supply limited to roughly 600, operators say the gap has made it increasingly difficult to keep kitchens running at normal capacity.
