Bengaluru, April 15 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday accused the union Government of attempting to "hide behind women's empowerment" to push what he described as a deeply unfair delimitation agenda.
In a sharply worded statement, Shivakumar alleged that the proposed increase in Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 850 was being positioned alongside the women's reservation push to deflect attention from its political consequences, particularly for southern states.
