Hyderabad, Aug. 7 -- A large number of students staged a protest in city today demanding the immediate release of Rs 8,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement and scholarship arrears benefiting around 14 lakh students.

The protesters also demanded the withdrawal of G.O. No. 9 and restoration of the fee reimbursement scheme in its original form.

The protest, led by BC Students' Association State President Pagilla Satish and supported by the National BC Welfare Association headed by Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah, alleged that the state government was attempting to dilute the fee reimbursement scheme.
