Naresh KumarBarnala/Sangrur, Sept. 22 -- Police has busted a gang allegedly involved in firing outside the residence of Punjabi singer Gulab Singh Sidhu in Barnala district, arresting six persons and recovering several firearms and live cartridges from their possession, police said on Tuesday.
Two other suspects allegedly opened fire at a police party while attempting to flee and were injured in retaliatory firing.
They are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Barnala, police said.
Patiala Range DIG Kuldip Singh Chahal said the arrests were made as part of a special campaign launched by the Punjab Police to curb anti-social elements.
