Hyderabad, Sept. 11 -- Banking operations across Telangana are likely to be affected on Friday as bank employees and officers affiliated with the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) observe a nationwide one-day strike on September 11 to press for a five-day banking week and other demands.

The strike, called by the influential umbrella body of bank unions, is expected to impact particularly public sector bank branches, which may remain closed or function with limited staff.

Banks in Telangana have advised customers to plan their transactions in advance, as the strike, followed by the weekend and a holiday, is expected to result in the closure of branches for four consecutive days.
