Dhaka, May 7 -- Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced that the government had decided to initiate a phased and gradual withdraw of the army from field-level law enforcement duties, due to the restoration of discipline in the police force.
Making his remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat after a meeting on stone quarry management, the BNP minister said that discipline in the police force had been restored ever since the PM Tarique Rahman led administration assumed power.
