Hyderabad, Aug. 25 -- union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday accused the Telangana government of neglecting the education sector and demanded immediate clearance of pending fee reimbursement dues.

In a statement, Bandi Sanjay said it was "laughable" for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to accuse the Centre of obstructing plans to bring foreign educational institutions to Telangana when basic issues in existing educational institutions remained unresolved.

He said fee reimbursement arrears had accumulated to around Rs.15,000 crore over the past five years, leaving thousands of colleges struggling to pay faculty salaries, meet maintenance expenses and repay loans. Many institutions had reportedly been forced to...
