Chandigarh, March 18 -- Panic gripped the Panjab University (PU) campus on Tuesday evening after unidentified assailants opened fire near a parking lot at approximately 5:00 PM.
According to preliminary reports, the target of the attack was Jashandeep Singh, also known as Jashan Jawanda, a prominent leader of the Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU). Witnesses stated that two youths arrived on a scooter and fired at least two rounds. While one bullet struck a parked car belonging to a student, Jawanda managed to flee the spot and escaped without injury.
