Manama, July 27 -- Bahrain's Ministry of Defence announced on Monday that it will host a joint military exercise with fellow member states from the Gulf Cooperation Council this week, following weeks of Iranian attacks on several US allies in the Gulf.
The exercise, named "Bahrain Shield", will take place from Tuesday to Thursday and will involve armed forces from GCC countries, the Bahrain Defence Force said in a statement.
According to the military, the drills are aimed at improving combat readiness and bolster coordination among Gulf allies to tackle hostile attacks.
