Gadchiroli, June 15 -- Former Maharashtra minister and senior leader of the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Dharamrao Baba Atram, has appealed to the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) to merge with the other NCP group rather than allying with the Congress party.
Atram stated that joining Congress would be akin to "boarding a sinking ship" and suggested that the Sharad Pawar faction should instead unite under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar. According to him, such a move would strengthen the NCP and consolidate the Pawar family's political influence.
