Lucknow, Oct. 24 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken strict action on five Block Level Officers (BLOs) and a Computer assistant in Azamgarh, after severe irregularities were found in the electoral roll revision.
Taking immediate cognizance of the allegation made by the Samajwadi Party through a press conference on October 15, 2026, that "the name of a person named Vikas Yadav is listed 10 times in the voter list of Assembly Constituency 347-Azamgarh," a detailed investigation report was obtained from the District Election Officer, Azamgarh.
