Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 1 -- The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), in coordination with the Pathanamthitta district administration, on Saturday issued an urgent advisory asking devotees planning to visit the Sabarimala temple for the Niraputhari festival on August 2 and 3 to postpone their pilgrimage in view of the prevailing heavy rain, flooding and landslide threat in Kerala.

The advisory said continuous heavy rainfall has led to flooding in the Pampa river, while the possibility of landslides along the forest and hill routes has prompted authorities to issue a security alert for the pilgrimage area.
