Madrid, July 11 -- Atletico Madrid on Saturday confirmed the signing of Danish international midfielder Morten Hjulmand from Sporting Club de Portugal for a reported 40 million euros (45.5 million U.S. dollars).
The 27-year-old has signed a contract with Atletico until the end of June 2031 to add extra bite to the midfield of the team coached by Diego Simeone.
Hjulmand leaves Sporting after three seasons with the Portuguese club in which he won two league titles and the Taca de Portugal (Portuguese Cup).
