Mumbai, Sept. 5 -- MLA Rohit Pawar has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to assess drought conditions on the basis of taluka-wise rainfall rather than the average rainfall recorded across an entire district.
In a representation to the Chief Minister, Pawar (NCP-SP) pointed out that rainfall distribution often varies significantly within the same district. While some talukas may receive adequate rainfall, neighbouring talukas can face severe rainfall deficits.
Taking the district-wide average into account could therefore deprive farmers in drought-affected talukas of much-needed government assistance.
