Dimapur, April 7 -- Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera called on Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in Kohima on Tuesday.

The courtesy visit was aimed at strengthening civil-military engagement and fostering closer coordination between the Assam Rifles and the state administration, a defence release said.

During the meeting, Lakhera discussed operational preparedness, ongoing development initiativesin border areas and measures to enhance community outreach programmes undertaken by Assam Rifles.
