New Delhi/Guwahati, July 27 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday called on union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Delhi and discussed ways to strengthen the state's energy sector and its contribution to India's energy security.
The meeting, held at Kartavya Bhawan, reviewed key developments in Assam's petroleum and natural gas sector and explored measures to deepen Centre-state cooperation in the energy sector.
Sharing details of the meeting on X, Puri said he was "very happy" to welcome the Assam Chief Minister and described the discussions as productive.
Puri said the North Eastern Region, including Assam, would continue to play a key role in realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
