Ranchi, March 25 -- A four-month-old female Asiatic lion cub at Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park in Ranchi has recovered after a critical health phase following birth and can now be viewed by visitors through a CCTV feed, zoo authorities said on Wednesday.
Zoo director Jabbar Singh said the cub was born on Nov 28, 2025, to Asiatic lion pair Abhay and Sabri, which had been brought to the park from Nandanvan Zoo and Jungle Safari, Raipur, under an animal exchange programme in June last year.
He said the cub fell seriously ill around 10 days after birth and had to be separated from its mother for special care and hand-rearing in the zoo hospital.
