Nagoya, Oct. 2 -- Parveen Hooda completed a remarkable Asian Games comeback on Friday, overcoming a fiercely contested final to win the women's 65kg boxing gold medal, three years after being stripped of her bronze at the previous edition following a doping violation.

Parveen edged past Chinese Taipei's Chen Nien-chin 3-2 in a split decision in a nerve-wracking final, holding her nerve in a contest in which none of the five judges awarded a 30-point score to either boxer.

The Indian made a confident start, taking the opening round unanimously as both boxers initially fought cautiously before stepping up the exchanges.
