Kolkata, June 6 -- Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday unveiled an ambitious Rs 1 lakh crore railway development package for West Bengal, promising a sweeping expansion and modernisation of the state's rail infrastructure, including a proposed Delhi-Siliguri bullet train corridor, 102 Amrit Bharat stations, 538 flyovers and underpasses, and 61 new railway projects.
The announcements were made after a high-level meeting at Nabanna attended by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, senior state government officials, top police officers and a delegation of Railway Ministry officials led by Vaishnaw.
