Chennai, April 18 -- Former India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes Sanju Samson could in the future captain Chennai Super Kings, but stressed that the wicketkeeper-batter should build his own identity instead of trying to follow anyone else's legacy.
Speaking about CSK's leadership transition, Ashwin said the process had already begun a few years ago when Ravindra Jadeja briefly took over the captaincy, even though that phase didn't go as planned. He added that current skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has effectively been leading the side in recent seasons, alongside head coach Stephen Fleming.
