Varanasi, March 16 -- Asaram, a convict in a rape case, offered prayers and paid obeisance at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Sunday evening amidst tight security arrangements.
People have begun raising questions on social media regarding the alleged "VIP treatment" accorded to Asaram. His convoy arrived at Gate Number 4 of the temple around 8:30 PM on Sunday evening, where a massive crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of him.
According to the police, no official protocol had been issued for Asaram. He was brought for "darshan" by his personal staff and associates. Upon entering the temple, he underwent a DFMD (Door Frame Metal Detector) check, just like any other devotee.
