Chennai, July 14 -- With several coastal districts of Tamil Nadu including the Chennai and its neighbouring districts reeling under oppressive heat due to spike in the mercury level by 2-4 deg C during the last few days, interspersed by a brief respite when the city witnessed cloud cover for 1-2 days, the Met office on Tuesday issued heat wave and hot and humid weather Warnings over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal in the coming days.
In a special heat wave bulletin, it said the temepratures recorded in excess of 100 Deg F in several Northern district including Chennai with Vellore recording 106.8 deg F.
