Kolkata, June 16 -- Former sports minister Arup Biswas, who failed to appear before police on June 15 despite being summoned in connection with the ongoing Messi event controversy, may face legal action if he does not appear before investigators by Tuesday noon.
Sources said that if he fails to respond to police by the June 16 deadline of 12 noon, the matter could be taken to court, with authorities considering stronger legal action.
According to reports, police had instructed Biswas to appear at the police station within 48 hours of the latest notice served to him.
However, sources indicated that the former minister has expressed willingness to appear before police on June 19.
