Itanagar, May 27 -- Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik on Wednesday said that women in the state are highly active in social, economic and community life, making significant contributions across sectors ranging from agriculture and entrepreneurship to governance and social campaigns.
The Governor made the remarks during a meeting with National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, who called on him at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar as part of her three-day official visit to Arunachal Pradesh from May 27 to 29.
During the interaction, the two discussed issues and challenges concerning women's welfare, safety, empowerment, grievance redressal and socio-economic advancement in the state.
