Itanagar, April 24 -- In a rare and noteworthy medical achievement, a 30-year-old woman from Kurung Kumey district successfully delivered healthy full-term triplets through a caesarean section at Polo Hospital, Ganga here on Friday.
Doctors informed that triplet pregnancies are uncommon and typically associated with assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF pregnancy. However, in this case, the pregnancy was a spontaneous natural occurrence, making it particularly significant.
The high-risk surgery was led by gynaecologist Dr Posting Bayang Neri and medicine specialist Dr Meli Dodum. Despite the complexities involved, the procedure was completed successfully without any intra-operative or post-operative complications.
