Itanagar, July 22 -- Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Subansiri District Administration has begun airlifting essential food commodities to the flood-affected administrative circles of Nilling, Lingdam and Upper Giba after monsoon rains severely damaged roads and bridges, cutting off dozens of remote villages.
Official sources said on Wednesday that following heavy rainfall, roads connecting Nilling and Upper Giba circles were severely damaged due to breaches along the Nyo and Jao rivers, while the bridge over the Jao river was washed away, leaving 22 villages in Upper Giba completely isolated from the district headquarters.
