Itanagar, June 15 -- : The Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls commenced in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday as part of a nationwide exercise initiated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls while ineligible entries are removed.

The Commission had ordered the Special Intensive Revision in 16 states and three union Territories on May 14, 2026, under Article 324 of the Constitution and relevant provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
