Itanagar, May 14 -- The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet was on Thursday briefed on the current status of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in the state and discussed a comprehensive set of new guidelines 2026, aimed at strengthening and modernising the ILP regime under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873.

The proposed reforms are intended to enhance transparency, improve monitoring mechanisms, curb misuse of permits, and ensure stricter enforcement across the state.
