Itanagar, April 3 -- In a significant initiative to promote sustainable livelihoods and preserve traditional practices, the ICAR - National Research Centre on Yak (NRC on Yak) conducted a yak reintroduction programme at Mechuka in Shi-Yomi district, Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of NRC on Yak Director Dr Mihir Sarkar with the objective of promoting livestock-based livelihoods, enhancing eco-tourism opportunities, and conserving the cultural heritage associated with yak rearing in the region.
