Shillong, Aug. 21 -- Arsonists continued to target government properties with petrol bombs in Meghalaya as tensions persisted two days after a violent Khasi Students' union (KSU) rally in Shillong, despite tight state security.

Police said that two masked men hurled petrol bombs at a house that previously functioned as an office for the ruling National People's Party in Lower Lachumiere early Friday morning.

However, the bombs failed to explode, they said.

A combined team from the state forensic crime scene unit and police has collected evidence from the site of the petrol bomb attack at the NPP office and registered a case.
