Chennai, July 21 -- Opposition DMK MLA G V Markandeyan, who was arrested yesterday morning for making threatening remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay was questioned by the police for more than 12 hours before he was remanded in judicial custody late last night.
Soon after his arrest, he was taken to the Thoothukudi District Superintendent of Police for questioning, amid a snap agitation by his supporters and DMK leaders, including former Minister P Geetha Jeevan and party cadres.
After being questioned for more than 12 hours, he was taken to government hospital for medical examination. Later, he was produced before a Magistrate, who remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days. He was later lodged in Palayamkottai central pris...
